Fantastic experience: We booked our first family holiday with Sunway. We found them exceptional at their job. When a serious issue arose they stood beside us and supported us to remedy the issue. Would highly recommend to book with them. Guaranteed peace of mind.
Negative experience: Online site is not transparent. You put in full board as your preference in search and the results display only B&B, then you have to add in all the extras. The price displayed should give you the actual price for what you want. They are expensive compared to other TA's.

Negative experience: Terrible experience. The first 2 times I called, I was put on hold and hung up on. When I finally spoke to a person, Diana was very rude, and told me that she could not provide prices for different rooms. I had to decide what I wanted and just take what she gave me. Then her mobile started going off in the background, and she tried to end the call

Negative experience: Awful experience! I accessed Sunway.ie to book a holiday through Axa Plus link but the promotional code (5% off) didn’t work on their website so i called the travel operator to inquire about its validity. They confirmed they would apply the above discount to Axa customers and asked me the travel details. Kelly invoked the system was down at the time and told me to log off online and promised to call me back to finalise the booking and apply the discount. She called me back alright but increased the price by 800 euro claiming that there was a glitch in the system! That’s not the way to conduct business! Utterly greedy, disappointing and infuriating! Update: they made contact with me to ‘apologize’ and made another pathetic blunder by offering an inexcusable lie.

Fantastic experience: Fantastic trip to Lapland Very well organised.could not fault it from start to end.great hotel, friendly staff and good food.
Negative experience: Lapland experience was terrible value for money. Really does not live up to expectations of what is sold. Nothing magical and poor quality accommodation and Santa experience.

Fantastic experience: I want to express my thanks and acknowledge the expertise and professionalism of the Sunway Rep who met us at Malaga,on arrival from Dublin on Aer Lingus flight at 11.05 AM, on Saturday,10th September 2016. Our group had an episode of illness by one of members on the night prior to our departure on 17th September ,Saturday AM. We especially appreciate Sunway Rep assistance,advice and organisation of wheelchair availability . The Vistamar complex where we stayed was very satisfactory. All in all we are delighted to have travelled with Sunway Holidays .

Negative experience: To whom it may concern. Myself, my husband and 3 teenagers are just back from a weeks holiday to the Quinta Pedro Dos Bicos Apts in Albufeira, Portugal. Flights and transfers were fine, until we got to the apartments to check in. What a disaster, it seemed all the receptionists didn't know what they were doing. We waited two hours to check in. Finally given a tiny apartment for 5 of us with no balcony. It was a tight squeeze. Rang my travel rep who informed me that she would get it sorted. No joy there as everytime I went to reception, they knew nothing about it. Found all the staff there very unhelpful and witnessed them being rude to other guests trying to check in. The pool security man was a rude and arrogant individual. No such thing as having fun in the pool. Would not recommend these apartments to any Irish individual especially young people. You can do much better Sunway holidays.

Negative experience: We book and pay a deposit for our holiday in Tennerife in January. Roll forward late July, we pay for the holiday in full. What we didn't notice at this time was Sunway change our accommodation to a sister hotel (albeit a hotel with an almost identical name), a much inferior hotel and away outside the main tourist area. Spoke to staff and management at sunway in their Dublin office and was met with a couldn't care less attitude.
Negative experience: Dreadful experience with Sunway especially the Customer care support, who were patronising, condescending & severely put me in my place - all because I asked a question / needed clarification. Had an amazing NCL cruise, NCL's care & attention never ceased throughout, who I had to turn too, after booking.
Positive experience: Would have been better except our hotel was changed a week or so before we left. We were assured the other hotel was a good as the previous one, but it wasn't even close

Fantastic experience: Rang them up and told them what I was looking for. They then sent me an email with a few holidays to pick from. They sent me on a fantastic holiday to Greece.
Fantastic experience: Easy to navigate
Positive experience: The hotel Calabona is a bit remote, although a curtesy bus is provided. The hotel is about a mile to the center of Alghero. A nice walk if you are up to it. There is a cosy little beach to the rear of the hotel, but be warned, protective footwear is needed to go swimming. It is rated as a 4 star hotel but 3 star would be a closer description. The staff were all extremely nice, and nothing was too much trouble. The menu at the pool bar was limited, and could do with maybe the addition of pizzas to the menu during the day. There was no entertainment in the hotel during our stay. While we liked the quiet area that the hotel is in it may not suit some people. It was our first visit to Alghero, and we probably will come again. It took us a few days to find our feet, but now that we are familiar with the area it would be easier on a second visit. A recommended trip, is the boat trip to Neptune's Grotto. A week is too short to see all Alghero has to offer. But you can see a lot in the week.

Negative experience: I was about to book a holiday with these for 3 weeks to orlando, but after reading all the comments I think I will hold off. The main reason is the woman Cathy who doesn't seem to listen to her customers complaints but rather start with an apology and then proceed to tell them how wrong they are. Some of the comments were appalling particularly for a manager of customer service. There's a few I could point out, one about a complaint about the standard of a hotel and lack of kids club, which she said somebody she knew stayed there at the same time and had no problem. The woman's clearly gossiping and trying to make customers out to be liars. I would be afraid if I booked with a place like this to have to ultimately have a disastrous holiday and have to complain to her. Another story with aerlingus not changing flights and a holiday to Paris. Why bother going through these when the bigger companies like airlines have more power and give you a better chance when booked directly with them. Or simply book it separately. Scammers, only there to make money from you
Fantastic experience: Absolutely amazing trip to Lapland, so well organised, lots to do, fab hotel and food, not to mention the elves Binky and Elfo who kept the kids entertained non stop. Fantastic experience: Booked Lapland with Sunway. Reps were extremely helpful, i received multiple phone calls with updates on COVID changes. They organised antigen testing at the hotel for our return to Ireland. Sunway "eleves" throughout the trip were fantastic. Christmas Cake was our elf and she could not have been better, she did not break character once and was exceptional with the kids. Would recommend.

Negative experience: Lapland 10/12/22, we haven’t been yet. Booked last week and paid fully for an overnight, rang today to see if it would be possible to add another night or 2 and they told me that they couldn’t do anything about it so close to departure as they had so much paperwork already done. I’ve never heard worse in my life almost 8 weeks before we were due to leave. Book with caution as there’s certainly no give or take with this company. So we went on our trip with Sunway (the official Lapland company) last December and to say they are ripping people off with their one night package would be an understatement. When we boarded the plane we discovered they had given us row 13 to sit in (there’s no row 13 on most planes) and then had to wait to see if we even had seats to travel to our dream destination. Eventually as the plane filled up around us miraculously we had 4 seats at different locations around the plane. When we got there everything Sunway has as part of the package was tasters and brought us to Santa Claus village on the day of departure to discover everything cost extra apart from to see the unrealistic Santa in a very unrealistic setting. Sunway managed to shatter my Christmas dreams of going to Lapland and one year later I’m still struggling to come to terms with how poor it was. My advice is to check out what’s available by doing a DIY as I really think it would be much more authentic than the experience we had at the cost of it. Sunway sending bloggers week in week out to help sell their packages sums up the fakeness of the experience and social media. I’m still sick from the experience we had and the expense of it.

Negative experience: Why didn't I read the reviews first . In shock today to learn that sunway took almost two thousand euro off me and never actually paid Ethaid for my flights which I booked In January. And paid for I full in July. Was told today there are no flights for me as I had asked for an upgrade of my accommodation last week( for the 3rd time) and there was a small balance outstanding. But it had nothing to do with my flight my flights were paid I full on time. I'm absolutely shocked disgusted and devastated I don't know what to say to my son. We waited years for this holiday. Im ashamed of Sunway holidays its a disgrace and I will be taking this alot further. I can guarantee that. Terrible service from start to finish. Go elsewhere. Still no response from them at all !

Negative experience: Honestly such a bad company to deal with. Sunway travel did not confirm my transfer with the bus company and this was confirmed by the bus company even though I had paid in full and I could not get them on the phone to resolve the issue I was forced to pay for a taxi fare to the airport. When I got home they took two weeks after numerous emails and phone calls to respond. Now after two MONTHS I finally got my taxi fair back not even my transfer fare. I would highly recommend people stay well away from this company and go elsewhere they nothing but a bunch of thieves .

Negative experience: Just back from Calafornia Gardens in Salou.The worse place i have ever stayed in. Thesee are some of the things Sunway wont tell you. Theres no towel service if your going with children bring a suitcase full of your own towels. You have to dry them over the balcony where the sun dosent shine so they dont dry. Breakfast only starts at 8.30 by then the queue is out the door on to the street. Reception people are very rude. We couldnt eat the food they had pork chops one night and it could have been used as soles for your shoes. The Sun beds must never have beem cleaned since the plave opened there filty. The pool is full of leaves from the Trees thst surround the Hotel.Sunway advertise Entertainment if you like music quizes yoir all right that was tje entertainment. But wait thats not all if you fancy a bit of Music theres a Disco out side your window thats Blasts music till all hours of the morning even with the doors closed. Theres one pool bar manned by one man if you want a coffee then theres a big queue. If you want water with your dinner its 2.80 euros per bottle. My Son got sick twice we still dont know why. Sunway abvertised childrens club if playing music for an hour in the mornings is a kids club iam lost. I could go on. But enough is enough.Take what ive said and before you book dont believe a word the travel agents tell you.
Dear Mr. McGuinness Thank you for your email. I have had report from our Operations / Product Manager who stayed in the California Garden Hotel on the 19th July with her own family. In relation to your comments concerning children’s entertainment I have established that there was an entertainment Manager called Edu in attendance who entertained the children each morning from 11.00am until 12pm and again in the afternoon at 4 pm when he organised a number of activities for the children. My colleague’s own 10 year old daughter attended this programme each day. Concerning your comments pertaining to there being no pool towels available and this is indeed correct, however, may I say respectfully that we did not advertise there would be a pool towel service available and this would not be considered a standard facility available in a lot of 3 star properties. It is however normal procedure in most Hotels of this nature for clients to pay for all bottled water. I am sorry your Son was disturbed by the music coming from the nearby Disco, it is normal in holiday resorts during the summer season for there to be a variety of late night entertainment, however, I am assured that this particular music venue finished at approximately midnight each night. Having said that I am sorry you were disturbed. May I take this opportunity to say that normally this hotel is extremely popular with Irish holidaymakers, however and I hope you will appreciate that due to the COVID Pandemic not the usual high volume of Irish people are travelling abroad just yet so there would not have been the normal volume of Irish clients in the hotel during the period of your stay there. Unfortunately we cannot foretell how many Irish clients will be in any of our properties at any one time and particularly now in the present unpredictable climate. This would also have impacted on the entertainment programme and the language spoken as the majority of clients staying at the California Garden Hotel during this period were Spanish. In conclusion may I say once again I am sorry that on this occasion not all aspects of your holiday met with your satisfaction and I genuinely hope that you will allow us the opportunity of attending to your travel needs again in the not too distant future when I am confident of securing a holiday more suitable to your requirements that will meet with your total satisfaction. Negative experience: When you book a holiday you have to travel to Dun Laoghaire. It's a pity there isn't subway travel on O'Connell Street.
