Stein Travel

Positive experience: Booked our trip to maastricht with Derenea in stein travel, who was extremely helpful and friendly. It was well organised, even with recent flight cancellations, we were kept up to date with all the new arrangements including rescheduled flights home and accommodation for the extra night stay. The support staff are amazing. Well done to everyone.

Negative experience: Booked trip to Spain for October, back in February and it stated on the contract that there was a small supplement of 95 euro if you want to fly from Belfast rather than Dublin, we had originally booked Dublin and paid 500 euro, but about six weeks later we decided to fly from Belfast, and sent email to company and they never replied, so after a couple of weeks, I phoned them to enquire about this and was told that it would cost 250 euro each to fly from Belfast, so we decided on the spot to cancel and then was told oh well we could give it to you for 95 each, so by then we were really upset about this and demanded our deposit back, but no they couldn't refund our money even though they will fill this seat. I will never book with these again, as they are not efficient or professional in their job/attitude. Very disappointed to be treated like this. It such a rip off, for one week it would have been costly of near 3000. Originally it would have been 2 180.

Negative experience: I used Stein Travel for a Rugby World cup package last year. The flight home was severely delayed. Stein Travel has not communicated proactively on this matter, has made no attempt to offer any compensation and seems unwilling to pursue the airline involved despite being covered by EU legislation. I will never use Stein Travel again and very disappointed on their poor handling and lack or proactive communication on this matter.

Fantastic experience: First time using Stein Travel and highly recommended. Sean in particular made everything effortless to organize on a very short notice holiday plan. Will be using again.

All bookings we’ve made have gone very smoothly and are very organised and thorough which takes the stress out of traveling that can sometimes arise when you book yourself. Fantastic experience: Booked the 3 night Lapland trip with Seán. Fantastic trip from start to finish. From the airport transfers to the accommodation and excursions, I couldn't fault a thing. Seán was extremely helpful and always so prompt in answering emails. I would have no hesitation in recommending Stein Travel and hope to use them again soon.

Fantastic experience: Went on 3 holidays with Stein in the past few months. Ire Vs South African match in Paris was excellent and we stayed in The Chess hotel which was really a gem of a place. However the U2 at The Sphere in Vegas really is a once in a lifetime trip. It has to be seen to be believed. No matter what videos you watch nothing beats this hands down. Thanks to Andrea who really looked after us and also booking a few extras like the helicopter trip over the Grand Canyon.

Fantastic experience: Michelle booked our trip to see U2 at the sphere in Las Vegas in Nov 2023. She couldn’t have been more helpful. We’d never been so needed advice and we’d limited time so flight details were important. She put together a package that addressed all of these needs at a fair price. Negative experience: Which I could give 0 stars. This company should be shut down. They lie about where you are staying. They don't care when you ask for help/support. They are the worst company I have had to every deal with. The place they put me I'm was shocking ans you don't get compensated for it, had to fork out more money to stay in another hotel

Fantastic experience: This is the second holiday I have booked with Stein Travel this year. I’m a nervous traveller and they have helped me so much with the preparation. The staff have gone over and beyond to help me with my booking, from the destination to the price…. they are great. The staff in Stein travel have taken away all the stress and worry. Fantastic experience: We travelled with Stein Travel to the Scotland match at the World Cup. It was an excellent trip, great hotel in central location, flights and transfers worked out well. Result was the icing on the cake! Thanks David, look forward to travelling with you again. Unfortunately it won't be for RWC 2023 after the weekends results :-(

Fantastic experience: Went to Ireland vs South Africa game on the 23rd of September, great service from start to finish with reps in Dublin and Paris to greet us, super hotel, excellent tickets, and transfer to and from hotel seamless. Would go again with them in a heartbeat.

Fantastic experience: Our group of enthusiastic rugby supporters travelled with Stein Travel on 22 September 2023 to the IRE v SA RWC game and stayed 3 nights in a fabulous hotel in central Paris. The travel arrangements were seamless with coach transfer directly to the hotel and the staff were present in Dublin & CDG Airports to provide assistance if required for both outbound and inbound journeys. Everybody thoroughly enjoyed the trip and we look forward to travelling to more games with Stein Travel.

Fantastic experience: 15 of us went in a trip for the RWC, everything was very well organised couldn’t fault it. Highly recommended

Negative experience: If I could submit the report with 0 stars I would. Paid for our trip in February. Falsely told that we would have our flight plans and tickets every month and we have yet to receive them 6 days prior to expected travel. We are unable to finalise any plans or childcare until we receive confirmation but every phone call is met with the same unhelpful, unfortunate result. No details. We will not be using Stein in the future and we would encourage anyone else to use a different vendor.

Negative experience: Do not travel with them. Sub standard hotel, sub standard service and lack of information for Andrea Bocelli trip. This trip is NOT suitable for people with walking issues so beware. And they will not tell you this. I am still waiting on a refund for my bag (which I paid for them to book on and they didn’t) three months later.

Fantastic experience: Highly recommend. made Stevo fly alone

Negative experience: Strongly advise against this company; emailled and rang and gave my credit card for Rugby world cup bookings; they did not register booking and when they recognised their error prices had gone up 250%- yes more than euro 3000 increase in price for 3 day trip from euro 2000 to 5000!! Multiple calls were left unanswered also - highly unreliable

Positive experience: I have just returned from a trip to Maastricht for an Andre Rieu concert which was very enjoyable. The transport to and from the concert was excellent as was both the walking tour and the bus tour. The hotel was very clean and comfortable with very good food and really helpful staff. The reason I deducted one star was because the coach driver who was supposed to meet us in Brussels airport was sitting in a cafe having coffee when he should have been out on the concourse with a sign for Stein Travel. As a result nobody could find him which delayed our journey to the hotel. He was paid to do a job and clearly was not up to the mark. That is a major fault in any tour company

Fantastic experience: Hello Michelle We had an absolutely amazing trip to Vietnam, probably the best long haul trip I've done . Intrepid ( comfort)was very good,excellent guide,alot of emphasis on the history and culture and good opportunity to mix and experience with local communities Hotels were very good in smaller cities and adequate in Hanoi and Saigon. Food was very good, really enjoyed local cuisine.Transport was very comfortable, internal flights and return flights with Vietnam Airlines also excellent, outward flight with Air France was just OK It really was the trip of a lifetime. I want to thank Stein Travel and especially you Michelle for your help and advice prior to travelling. It went way beyond any service I've received in the past. I hope I have the opportunity of travelling with Stein Travel in the future Regards MW

Fantastic experience: We used Stein Travel last weekend to bring 7 of us the the Ireland V Italy Rugby. The arrangements were great, hotel was centrally located and we had a brilliant time. The two lads from Stein travel were there to make sure all went well from arrival in Dublin airport to departure from our hotel in Rome. It was also very good value. Will most certainly be using Stein travel again.

Fantastic experience: Booked a trip to Rome for 6N match with Stein Travel. From booking the trip with Michelle to arriving at our hotel everything went great. The flight was early but gave us the whole day in Rome. The airport transfers were great, and the hotel was excellent. Good location, nice quiet rooms and a good breakfast. Jay and his colleague were on hand throughout the whole weekend offering advice and help. The whole trip was really well organised. I look forward to travelling with Stein again in the future. Fantastic experience: We went on holidays last year with stein travel and had the absolute privilege to be dealing with stephen.what can we say Stephen is an amazing person to deal with ,he went over and above his job ,he was spot on with everything,I was home from a fabulous family holiday in Majorca when I realized I forgot my expensive hair straightener, Stephen went out of his way and got my hair straightener sent home to me ,we are in middle of booking our summer holidays again with Stephen,and no doubt he will come up with the best again,thank you Stephen your the best . kindest regards bernie John and girls .

Fantastic experience: Just back from an amazing week in the Algarve recommended by the amazing Laura in Stein. From start to finish Laura knew a family friendly holiday in the sun was our priority. She gave us a number of suitable options to pick from and made sure we got the best value for our holiday. She also organised priority boarding for us in Dublin as we were travelling with small children and all airport transfers were included in the price. Could not recommend Stein enough, they were simply amazing and will definitely be booking with them again for next years holidays

Negative experience: They obviously look after returning customers Which I certainly wont be. They offer you extras that they cant give and refuse to answer emails re checked baggage you paid for even though its free with the air line they changed the flight to. The worse customer service I have ever come across. If you want to do a group tour go with the Travel Department.

Fantastic experience: We had a fantastic trip to Maastricht three weeks ago and attended the most amazing Andre Rieu concert. Hotel was clean and was satisfactory. I have to mention the representative of Stein Travel Ger O’Connor, who was most helpful and made us feel very welcome. His directions to various areas were spot on. We met him out walking on Sunday evening and he directed us to a square where we saw Sunday night’s concert on screen and had food and drinks. I have no hesitation in saying he was tremendous. Also, we will use Stein Travel for next year.

Negative experience: Very poor booked the trip and then had to pay extra for Ryanair. When got to masteriact advised to go coach tour 30 euro absolute waste of money

Fantastic experience: Terrific staff, great service, cool heads and a sense of humour in the face of covid, travel cancellations and the post covid travel chaos in the airports. Hats off to Stein travel and all staff. Had a fantastic trip to Maastricht for an Andre Rieu concert which was superb. I've no hesitation in recommending Stein Travel. Fantastic experience: Huge Thank You to Stein Travel for my Amazing prize of a trip for two to Andre Rieu concert in Maastrich. Just like and share the competition. It is hard to put this experience into words. We were collected at Shipol Airport by Stein Reps and went by bus to Maastrich. We stayed in the Select Hotel outside Maastrich. The staff were a joy and so helpful and the hotel was very comfortable. There is a bus within a few minutes walk of the hotel. Maastrich itself is beautiful with lots of shops and trips. But the Andre Rieu concert in Maastrich is something everyone should attend at least once in their lifetime. It is so much more that a concert. It is an amazing experience. There is a Stein Travel rep around if you need any help. We were brought to and from the concert so we didn't have to arrange anything. Our sincere thanks to Laura Kelly, Stein Travel who took such good care of us before we travelled. Thank you again Stein Travel for the trip of a lifetime

Fantastic experience: Arranged a trip with them for the Andre Rieu Christmas concert. Had a great time. They were professional and easy to deal with. Suzanne who accompanied the group was great. She was always available, helpful and good humoured. The only downside was that our flight home was delayed which wasn't the companies fault but maybe an earlier flight home might prevent this? Thanks for a great trip I would recommend this company.

Negative experience: Very poor no trust in this Company

Negative experience: Paid a deposit of €700 for a trip to Maastricht in July 2020. This is quite a substantial deposit compared to other travel companies. This trip was cancelled in March 2020. Despite sending numerous emails Now nearly 9 months later I am still waiting for my refund. We are two pensioners and could do a lot with this money. I am totally disgusted and disappointed with the treatment we have received. Friends of mine who had booked trips with other travel companies have had their refunds with no hassle whatsoever. Will never use their services again nor recommend them.

Fantastic experience: Aw I love these woods my favourite place to walk my little dog I love every thing about it think kids would love it too.its so peaceful and quiet even if I go on my own I love summer but I also love it in winter when the leaves have all fallen and you hear trickles of water which all flow down to a walk along the river

Fantastic experience: RWC 2019 in Japan We booked our Rugby World Cup trip to Japan through Stein Travel. The logistics weren't easy as our group were coming from both Dublin and San Francisco but the team in Stein worked with us to create the perfect package for our needs and budget. We'd a fab time in Japan (despite Ireland's lacklustre display). From accommodation to food to transport, everything was top notch. Thanks to all at Stein especially Laura.

Negative experience: Really poor customer service paid for check in chasing staff for boarding passes as they don’t respond to emails. Extremely expensive trip to Maastricht for Andre Reiu on which we were completely ignored by stein travel staff rep on coach because of the hotel we were staying in. Rep was only interested in guests staying in specific hotel. Five weeks waiting on a response to complaint. Overall a really poor experience with Stein travel I’d never book with them again.

Fantastic experience: Thank you stein travel for a wonderful citybreak to the Andre Rieu concert in Maastricht.The transfers etc were perfect the hotel was perfect and the staff were great.Having travelled the world it's refreshing to have a company that can accommodate such a trip. My mum in her 80s was delighted with it. It's a same there was complaining by other travellers must be an Irish thing as it was fabulous.we had organic freshing ground coffee every morning yet there was still folks still complaining you can't win.No complaints from me.

Negative experience: I had a bad experience with Stein Travel,On arriving at the airport I was hit with baggage charges,which I assumed when you book a "package holiday" that all costs were included.At no time during the booking process was I informed the baggage was an extra cost.I was offered insurance at an extra cost but not baggage.I phoned and complained and E-mailed and received no reply or an answer as to why I was not informed about this Hidden Cost.I had my spending money budgeted but had to cut back on my spending in order to pay the extra charges.It spoiled my holiday and upset me as it was my birthday treat to myself.
