Elegant Irish Tours, Private Tours of Ireland: Reviews
Negative experience: THE ABSOLUTE WORST TOUR WE WERE EVER ON. I have contacted the company on two occasions regarding our 4 day tour. I have given them weeks to respond. Nothing. Poor customer service.
Fantastic experience: Their tour through Giant’s Causeway and Belfast was a great way to briefly experience Northern Ireland. Highly recommend for couples and families
Positive experience: It was a good tour to Rock of Cashel, Cork, and Blarney Rock. Our driver told us something about the places we visited and waited by the bus. Make sure to bring a power bank because none of the USB charging points on the bus worked. WiFi works sometimes.
Fantastic experience: We had an excellent time!! Our tour van was brand new and so clean. Our driver was funny and extremely knowledgeable about everything we did the entire day!
Fantastic experience: We had a wonderful experience with Patrick on our tour to the Cliffs of Moher! The weather wasn’t cooperating, but we powered through and so glad we did. Very educational, beautiful scenery the entire trip, A must see for anyone visiting Ireland
Fantastic experience: Cliffs of Moher day trip from Dublin was awesome. Patrick was the best guide and made the trip super awesome.
Fantastic experience: We had our tour today with Patrick to the cliffs of moher and it was fantastic! Such a comfortable and enjoyable experience. He knew so much about the culture, stories, and places we would go to, and I learned so much today during my tour. The best part is that the bus is so small it literally feels like a private tour without paying for private. I would 100% recommend that to anyone considering a more comfortable experience with a smaller group
Fantastic experience: This was an amazing tour. Our driver, Pat, was fantastic. He is extremely knowledgeable in the history of Ireland as well as the is the area we were visiting. He had some wonderful stories to share, making the trip more interesting and enjoyable. Do not miss the Cliffs of Mohre when you come to Ireland. I highly recommend Elegant Irish Tours!!
Positive experience: Overall, we thought this was a good tour, but not necessarily a great tour. Our guide Peter did a great job driving and giving us the background and history of the things that we were experiencing along the way. We did feel as though the advertisement for the tour was a bit misleading in that we never got the opportunity to tour the whiskey distillery. In addition, the implication from the video was that lunch was included in the price of the ticket, however it was not. My husband, and I also chose to do two different tours he did that black cab and I did the Titanic museum. he was dropped off first and picked up last. While they were both good experiences, my husband felt as though he had too much left over after the black cab experience, and I did not feel as though I had nearly enough time for the Titanic museum, which could’ve been several hours. We are both glad we had the experience, we just feel as though it should have been clearer about what to expect
Negative experience: The driver on one your buses was so rude. I asked him if there’s a WiFi, he said No! We paid enough for this tour with Paddywagon and I don’t know why I have to deal with this man and a different tour company! He doesn’t need to act like he doesn’t want to be bothered when I asked him to call the office for the password if he doesn’t know! This driver is just an ordinary old man who just drives and doesn’t want to be bothered if you have any questions! He seems nice when he’s with the group but when alone with us , he is a mfrsob ! Me and my wife came back from the cliff and as my wife stepped in the van , “Tom” the driver purposely closed the door on me and I was stucked between the door, blaming the wind. For all you know, I saw his finger pressing on that red button and pressed it again to open it, then I told him that I saw him pressing on that button. What do you think of this driver’s behavior towards a person who is a customer of your company? Is the kind of treatment this driver delivers towards your customers/ tourists! Or is he bias towards people not of his color? Tom was now getting more rude, and unprofessional , as me and my wife stepped in the van to settle down to relax, he started mumbling and opened his driver side door to get out and turned off the engine and so with the air conditioning too! I told him that we will not be locked in here in the van with all doors closed and engine off , it was then that most probably he realized that he will be locking us in against our will and said he will leave the door open . He did opened the door and so me and my wife went out to stand in the cold and windy weather! After a 5-10 minutes, some of the passengers came and went in and so we did too. Guess what? he started the engine and the aircon. I did not want to cause more problems, did not mention about the WiFi! Do you think this bus should be equipped with WiFi for customers/ tourists who paid enough money for this tour? I am writing this review because I don’t tolerate such kind of service or treatment towards me! One more thing, he instructed all to go to the left because it had the best view! Guess what again? It was not the best view because the “walking trail “ was closed. So we had to go back and walked towards the right side! So, I am calling the attention of his superior, much more to the management of “Paddywagon” & “ELEGANT IRISH TOURS” if you really care ! You need to address this concern and complaint ! For all you tourists watch out which company you pick !

Fantastic experience: Our driver JJ made this tour a wonderful experience. Two of us joined 4 others for a small group day trip tour from Dublin to Cliffs of Moher. We stopped at the Barack Obama Plaza (rest stop - breakfast) before going to Bunratty Castle, stopping for lunch near Cliffs of Moher, and back to Dublin. He gave plenty of time at each stop and did not rush at all. Of course, a small group of 6 is easier. He told us all sort of interesting stories about history and current events encouraged us to ask questions and gave very thorough and informative answer. Not to mention, he was funny (hello dad jokes)! I would recommend this tour with JJ to anyone!
Fantastic experience: Fabulous trip to the Cliffs of Moher and Bunratty Castle with Patrick. Wee bit wet but we were prepared
Fantastic experience: Johnny was Fantastic. He showed us the sites of Belfast from castles and countryside to the fences dividing the city for religious reasons. The Giant Causeway was awesome. What a marvel. Johnny was very friendly and personable. We enjoyed his company for the day. We ended the day with a stop at the Titanic Museum. I highly recommend this tour
Fantastic experience: Our tour guide Patrick was so informative! The bus was comfortable and perfect for the long drive. Would definitely book another tour with them again.
Fantastic experience: We had a wonderful time on the tour. Our guide shared interesting history, as well as current information about Ireland. On the day of tour, we experienced bad weather, so he adjusted our itinerary to see other sights throughout Ireland before arriving at the Cliffs of Moher. They were spectacular and I would definitely go again!
Fantastic experience: Peter was a fantastic driver and guide! Just the right amount of information and a gentleman.
Negative experience: We took a tour from Dublin to the Cliffs of Moher with my partner. An experience that was nothing short of disgusting; aside from the fact that it is not a tour but a chauffeur service, there is absolutely no time to do anything. Each stop allows for 10 minutes on land, and once that time is up, the 'guide' starts to go crazy and scolds you as if we were on a school trip. The aforementioned 'guide', if that can be called so, in our case was named Dominik, an unpleasant, petulant, boring, verbose, overbearing, anxious person and much more. IMPORTANT NOTE: if you do not come from English-speaking countries or do not have perfect command of the language like me, do not even think about booking with this agency or you will only further annoy Dominik the terrifying! In general, avoid them like the plague.
Negative experience: Did a one day trip from Dublin to Belfast. Was not a tour but just a driver. No pre-planning or flexibility to create our own agenda. No time set aside for a meal. Just took us to the black cab tour and the Titanic museum. Complete waste of money, and even worse, a bad experience during a family trip.
Fantastic experience: We had an amazing tour from Dublin to Cliffs of Moher with a stop in Bunratty. We were lucky enough to be a small group of 6 so our guide arranged the day as we all wanted. We viewed the cliffs from both the water and land, saw a couple castles, and had a great lunch at a 400 year old pub! The drive was incredibly smooth and comfortable. I’d recommend the tour to anyone!
Fantastic experience: Thanks to Wayne and elegant Irish tours for the best trip of my life! Did the Southern Ireland 4-day tour with a group of 12 family members. It was the trip of a lifetime! I’ll cherish those memories forever. Thanks Wayne!
Negative experience: This company is a farce. DO NOT BOOK WITH THEM. We booked 2 “small group” tours during our British Isles cruise. Neither tour was Elegant nor small. The Cork tour was like being on a class trip with approximately 10 small children among the group of 30. The coordinator for all of the Paddywagon tour buses checked everyone into all of the large tour buses and sent those bus tours off before he coming on to our packed shuttle bus (definitely not a black Mercedes van with Elegant Irish Tours written on the side) The Driver did not show up at all for our Dublin tour and we were all put on a giant Paddywagon tour bus with a large group (Technically that driver was a no-show as well until several people waiting called and they sent a big bus about 1 hour after the designated meet time). Do not believe the description of the tour on their site…you will not experience that!
Positive experience: Finding our driver in port was relatively easy, and it was just a short time before our entire small group arrived and we were ready to go. The places we visited were wonderful (Blarney Castle and Gardens and Jameson Distillery (Midleton).) Our guide was nice, but it was occasionally very hard to hear him on the bus, as his mic was not working and there was a lot of road noise in the back of tje bus. He also seemed to have been thrown into driving this tour at the last minute, as he didn't seem to know the route or anything/place that was included in the tour. He had a good knowledge of the history of the place and country, and was willing to accommodate our group, within reason.
Negative experience: I don't recommend this touring company. The driver was disinterested and cut short our trip to Cork . He was a rude Irish man!
Negative experience: Wish I could give zero stars. We booked a reservation to the Cliffs of Moher tour. Showed up early at the pick up location. Not only was the driver late, but he was calling a member of our party to confirm pick up and was rude saying we were in the wrong spot, but we weren't. When he finally arrived, he informed us the company had sent him too small of a vehicle and there wasn't room for our whole party, so two of us had to give up our seats and stay back. Even though he clearly had all our names on his reservation list (we saw it and he checked us off) He assured us that there would be another bus coming soon and we would hear from the office to confirm. Of course we never heard from the office. So I guess we'll never see the cliffs. I tried calling the office and also going to the physical location. The phone is just a voicemail and there is no physical office. Praying I actually get a refund because at this point this whole thing seems like a giant scam. What a disaster!
Fantastic experience: Great day trip from Dublin giving us an opportunity to see the West Coast of Ireland without renting a car
Negative experience: Booked a small group tour to cliffs of moher, but it was a large group of 30 people in a big bus. It was not clean, the driver bored us a lot. Dont recommend them if you wanna have a good time.
Negative experience: Horrible experience with this tour. If you are porting in Ringaskiddy instead of Cobh, prepare to have your day ruined. A. What we paid for: “Operated by our 5 star sister company Elegant Irish Tours, the small group vans seat no more than 25 passengers and allow for a particularly intimate day on shore. Your day begins in style as we collect you with a small group tour van from the cruise liner terminal in Cobh, Cork Harbour. (Note: if for operational reasons your ship is diverted to the other Cork terminal in Ringaskiddy we will of course meet you there instead)” What we received: We were not collected by the small group tour van in Ringaskiddy. We were unable to find the Elegant Irish Tour Van. We found a Paddywagon coach bus and asked the tour operators to help us locate the small group tour van. They made some phone calls and told us that the small group tour van would not be picking us up. Instead, we should ride along on the Paddywagon group coach bus and meet up with the small group van at Blarney Castle, which was the first stop for both tours. B. What we paid for: Transport from the Jameson Distillery to the city of Cobh including (time permitting) visits to the St Coleman Cathedral and the Titanic Experience. What we received: The tour bus driver told us he would not take us to the city of Cobh because we were from a different port than the rest of the passengers on the tour. Instead, he called a taxi for us and two other tourists to take us directly back to the Ringaskiddy Terminal. The rest of the Elegant Irish Tour passengers went to Cobh and to their terminal in Cork. C. What we paid for: Return to the cruise ship via the small group tour van What we received: Taxi ride with a driver and a total of four passengers in a sedan to our cruise ship. Our travel agent has also blacklisted them based on our experience.
Negative experience: Got cat called by one of the mini bus drivers unacceptable.
Fantastic experience: Great trip to Northern Ireland with Colin! We really enjoyed experiencing the Black Cab Tour.
Fantastic experience: Excellent Tour. You LITERALLY cannot get one better. HIGHLY, HIGHLY RECCOMMENDED. Our Driver Kevin Price was spot on time. He was gracious, friendly, witty, and shared his knowledge and stories with us. We was constantly attentive to our needs and desires, and worked with us to fine tune the tour to our wishes. He was a safe and accomplished driver. The Mercedes Van was immaculate and supremely comfortable. I do not know how anyone could ask for more out of this day tour from Dublin to Blarney and back. Kevin Price and Elegant Irish Tours EARNED THE HIGHEST POSSIBLE RECOMMENDATION.
Fantastic experience: This was a wonderful tour. JJ was very knowledgeable and made the day lots of fun.
Fantastic experience: Had a great experience. Our driver Paul was amazing and really made the trip special. Would definitely recommend them!
Negative experience: Great
Fantastic experience: We had a fantastic day trip from Dublin to Galway & Connemara. Our driver "Richie" was absolutely WONDERFUL! He was pleasant, extremely informative and went out of his way to make the trip a truly one of a kind experience for both of us. Everything about the day was 5 Star. Thank you Richie!!!
Negative experience: We paid a deposit for our tour but had to cancel due to the Middle East conflict (our Egypt tour was cancelled). They promised us a refund, but have gone very quiet and will not respond to emails. I was hoping to use them again in the future, but will need to rethink this decision. Untrustworthy mob. Attached is an email from 8/1/2024. They never had any intention of repaying the money
Negative experience: I booked a full-day tour in May for a trip to the Giant's Causeway/Bushmill's Distillery in September, and received a final confirmation on the time/location of the pick-up in Dublin two days before the scheduled tour. It was confirmed that we would be traveling along the Irish coast in a maximum 25-passenger "luxury Mercedes coach." We arrived 15 minutes early (7:05 am) and waited and waited. The Elegant Irish Tours answering machine informed us to use a number via What's App, but no one responded to either the phone calls or What's App. Sometime after 8 am a dirty gray taxi arrived from Elegant Irish/Paddywagon Tours to take us and three other passengers on the tour. We had to travel across the city to the other pick-up location. The taxi had two forward facing seats and 2 backward facing seats plus a passenger seat beside the driver - a far cry from a luxury Mercedes coach! The other 3 passengers couldn't be located when we arrived at the second pick-up point, but there were three other people who had been waiting for 90 minutes for another Elegant Irish Tour. They were offered the chance to join us, but given the late start and the cramped conditions of the taxi they decided to try to get a refund. Our driver, Conrac, saved the day for us. He had been called by Elegant Irish Tours the night before to drive from his home in Belfast to take us on the tour BUT never once did the company contact us before or after the tour to let us know that the tour had been OVERBOOKED! (Remember that I made the reservation 4 months earlier in May.) Conrac engaged us in conversation and told us many stories along the way with stops at the Peace Wall in Belfast, Giant's Causeway, and Bushmill's Distillery. The price of the Bushmill's tour was supposed to be included in the price of the Elegant Irish tour, but when we arrived we were told that the reservation had been made, but no payment had been transacted. Conrac contacted the tour company, and they finally called Bushmill's with a cc number. While we missed the drive along the Irish coast and the full amount of time allotted to visit the Giant's Causeway, we got to see the highlights of the tour. We give Elegant Irish Tours a Minus 10, but Conrac gets a +10 for his guidance and good humor. We are sorry for the other 6 people who didn't get to go on any Paddywagon tours that day. No one from Elegant Irish Tours or Paddywagon Tours has ever contacted us with an explanation or apology.
Fantastic experience: Thank you, Mick and Elegant Irish Tours for two amazing days of exploring your beautiful country. We booked two private tours the Cliffs of Moher and Giant’s Causeway. We received way more than we expected. Mick was knowledgeable, kind and accommodating. He paid attention to our interests which gave our family some very special memories. If you are considering booking a private tour with Elegant Irish Tours do not hesitate - Book It!! Thanks again for helping our family create some amazing memories that will last a lifetime. James, Darla, Xander and Payton Leonard
Fantastic experience: Rich was great,he took us to extraordinary places. He really is a great driver and tour guide.
Fantastic experience: Great tour, the weather was beautiful. Mick, the driver, was fantastic!
Fantastic experience: Excellent service. We hired Elegant Tours for trips between Kilkenny and Galway and then from Galway to Connemara and Trim. Both drivers, Paudie and Paul, were punctual, friendly and professional. Both were very knowledgeable. The drivers were not hired as tour guides, but their knowledge of local history as well as their national history was impressive. I got a feel for the day-to-day lives of the people in the towns we passed (or stopped into). The only negative - we got the feeling that the drivers themselves were not given the tailored itinerary we had drawn up for Elegant Tours. Each driver had to quickly get up to speed with our particular plans at the pick up sites. Both drivers adjusted on the fly, but the lack of communication from the office to the field put a bit more pressure on the drivers than there should have been. With typical Irish grace and smarts, our drivers made it all work. Overall, a good and reliable company and great experience!
Negative experience: Sept 2023. Nothing Elegant about our 6-day tour. Dirty van with leaky moonroof….it rained for part or all of the day 5 of the 6 days and at times we couldn’t mop up the water in the vehicle fast enough to keep the seats dry. Late start on Day 1 due to lack of driver and vehicle. Had to use local bus for first outing to Jameson Distillery and EIT driver met us there after tour. He/JJ was only available for Day 1 as he just came off a 5-day tour. Starting Day 2, While Our driver Ian was very knowledgeable he was not a good driver. He drove recklessly speeding on wet windy narrow roads, passing multiple vehicles in an unsafe manner for the weather and road conditions putting his 6 passengers in danger many times. He unexpectedly cancelled our afternoon excursion and walked off the tour on Day 3 because he was asked to slow down. Limited communication from his boss Gabriel when we tried to resolve the situation. We skipped one scheduled stop at Cashel Rock which was prepaid in our package. We arrived 30 minutes after closing to Bunratty Castle. One mishap after another. To our surprise and Joy, JJ showed up and was our driver for Day 6…what a relief. Given this company advertises a luxury custom tour, our experience was the complete opposite. Paid top dollar for a less than ideal experience without any response or even an offer of a partial refund.
Fantastic experience: We were in Dublin for about 4 days and booked two, one day private tours with Elegant Irish Tours. Our first day was to the Cliffs of Moher, and the second was to Blarney Castle. We ended up with the same driver, Jimmy, for both days, and he was amazing. On the first day, he picked us up from our hotel promptly on time, in a very nice and comfortable vehicle. We set off towards the Cliffs, with a stop at Dunguair Castle in Kinvara. After that, we stopped a bit short of the Cliffs for some nice photos and then pushed on to the Cliffs to stay ahead of some incoming weather. After we were finished at the Cliffs, we headed back with a stop for lunch and a quick visit to Bunratty Castle and shopping. While returning to Dublin, Jimmy gave us several nice suggestions for dinners and sites around Dublin for our non-tour days. The next morning, Jimmy was again very prompt. Leaving our hotel and heading towards Blarney Castle, Jimmy was quick to point out site and landmarks as we drove and gave us quite a bit of Irish history, which was wonderful. We stopped at Cashel Rock and spent some time there before going on to Blarney Castle. Jimmy provided great guidance and helpful tips along the way. After visiting the Castle, we had plenty of time to eat and shop before heading back to Dublin. Jimmy was a wonderful guide during our visit, and we'd love to do more tours with him on future trips if possible. Highly recommend!!!
Fantastic experience: This was a wonderful tour. We enjoyed visiting the grounds of the Blarney castle and the tour of Jameson distillery.
Fantastic experience: Great tour and guide. Note Elegant Irish Tours is also PaddyWagon. That information would have been helpful in the beginning of the day to locate all of the passengers.
Negative experience: Elegant Irish Tours were very irresponsible. My husband and I booked our tour months ago. Fully paid. When we arrived in Dublin we were so looking forward to the excursion to The Giant Causeway they just cancelled the tour at the last minute giving the reason of no drivers available. My husband and I flew thousand of miles over and we were left disappointed and our travel plans ruined.
Negative experience: We booked the Small Group Shore Tour from Cork through PaddyWagon Tours, which they contracted out to Elegant Irish Tours. The experience was horrible, and we weren't able to do anything specified within the tour summary. We left an hour late because of confusion and disorganization by the guides due to them waiting on a group that never showed up. Due to the late departure, we were only able to visit Blarney Castle. The tour description references fast passes to the front of the line for Blarney Stone. This is a lie! Fast pass options for the Blarney Stone don't exist. When I questioned the guide directly about this, he brushed me off with a non-response. Due to the 90-minute wait to see the stone and the limited time we were allowed there, we weren't able to see the stone. All of the passengers on our tour were very upset about not being able to see the stone nor stopping at any of the additional advised stops, such as the Jameson Distillery or the English Market. I contacted PaddyWagon Tours while at Blarney to voice my frustration and request a refund. I've since contacted them four more times and have yet to receive any further responses with the expectation of a confirmation that my issue had been escalated to their corp. office in Dublin. I do not recommend this company or Elegant Irish Tours.
Fantastic experience: Great communication, kind customer service and Brian, our driver & guide Carrie’s a wealth of knowledge. We were so grateful to enjoy our last day in Ireland with Elegant Irish Tours. Miigwech/thank you.
Positive experience: Kieron was our driver/guide to The Cliffs of Moher; he was safety focused with great traffic & narrow roads; he was personable, pleasant, timely & knowledgeable;
Fantastic experience: We had the most amazing time on the 4 day Southern Irish tour with our guide DJ! Very comfortable the entire time. His commentary added so much character to the trip, both historical and interesting. He gave excellent advice as to what to include and exclude from our trip and his recommendations never failed. We had plenty of time to enjoy each city in the evening and had sensible meeting times in the AM. This creates a nice, leisurely trip without feeling rushed while still accomplishing the major tourist attractions of South and West Ireland. 10 stars. Would recommend to anyone with any family size of any ages. Thank you DJ!
Positive experience: Super fun trip! The driver told us a lot of fascinating history about Ireland as we drove through the country side. The Cliffs of Moher were breathtaking.
Fantastic experience: Exceeds expectations was an understatement! Gabriel our driver was exceptionally knowledgeable, personable and thoughtful. He went out of his way to make sure our private tour was meaningful to us and even inquired of locals in Mayo to see if anyone knew of our relatives. We were able to connect with a lovely gentleman and visit the old family farm. I was so touched I could barely speak. I will never forget it and was very grateful for the effort Gabriel extended to us. Well well worth it and highly recommended.
Fantastic experience: We thoroughly enjoyed our tour of Rock of Cashel and Cork. This was a private tour and our driver, Mick, was an excellent guide and helped make our day enjoyable. He chatted with our group and shared history about Ireland and some of his personal story. A very interesting individual and we are grateful for having shared the day with him. Additionally, he guided us to the Rock of Cashel and was always prompt and even waited some extra time in Cork for our group to get back to the rendezvous location. Would highly recommend Elegant Irish Tours.
Fantastic experience: We had an unforgettable day with the driver/guide Jackie. He told us a lot about the history and daily life of Ireland. He advised us on good restaurants and shops. The Cliffs of Moher tour became unforgettable as well as the day. Thank you so much.
Fantastic experience: Dominic was very knowledgeable and made our trip a blast. We went on the boat at cliff of mohr and he recommended fish and chips. Told us old Irish tales and sang. Fun time and we give him 5 stars!!
Fantastic experience: Had the small group tour to Cliffs of Moher. Jimmy showed us awesome sites and had interesting stories. Great time...
Positive experience: Great experience, but it depends on the driver you get. Our first tour was to the Cliffs of Moher, which was beautiful, but the driver was rushed and didn't follow the itinerary nor any traffic laws as he sped around, even running into a wall. Scary. The second tour to Giants Causeway way great. The driver was more than accommodating, safe, and very knowledgeable. We couldn't have had a better day.
Negative experience: Terrible experience! we hired a tour from limerick to the rings of kerry, the driver, who was extremely arrogant and rude, pointed out that we could not get into the vehicle because there were not enough seats left, after this he ignored the situation and simply left. We arrived at the agreed place for the tour 25 minutes before the agreed time, we had already reserved and paid for this in advance.
Negative experience: we contracted the tour with the company, the driver who was quite aggressive, pointed out that he did not have enough seats available and simply left, even though there was a reservation and the service had been paid
Fantastic experience: Jackie was amazing! Made the overall experience with his insights and updated ideas along the way. His choice for lunch at Russell’s seafood was excellent. He made sure everyone was taken care of even helping the wait staff with orders and water for the tables.
Fantastic experience: We had an entertaining and flawless tour from Dublin to the Cliffs of Moher with the guide Dominik. He took great care of us, shared a lot of informative and funny stories, and everything was perfectly organized. Thank you for the great day!
Fantastic experience: This tour service is excellent! We hired them to pick us up from the airport and take us on a driving tour of the city. Our guide, Don, was excellent. He was waiting for us at the airport with a smile. He took us to drop our bags at our hotel and then whisked us on a custom Dublin City tour. He showed us Trinity College, St Patricks cathedral, Christ Church, the Vikings museum, a city park, Facebook and google offices, and many other city highlights. He took us for our pre booked tours at Jameson and Guiness, made sure we were in the right lines, and gave us pointers about how to best enjoy our tours and avoid lines. He was friendly, upbeat, and easy going which was exactly what we needed after a long flight from US. Highly recommend.
Fantastic experience: It was such a wonderful experience. The entire tour was amazing! Our driver/tour guide Alex was such a delight. He was informative and entertaining. He was one of the best parts of the trip!! We would definitely book again!
Fantastic experience: Wonderful tour. Our tour guide was very entertaining. Made us laugh on the whole trip. We had lunch at a great local restaurant with amazing seafood chowder. We even got lucky with the weather and our tour guide arranged a ferry ride beneath the cliffs.
Fantastic experience: Jackie is a fantastic guide. When you book, ASK if he will be your tour guide. He is a must. Cliffs were beautiful, but he is a true Irishman!!!
Fantastic experience: Another Great tour, Lots of road time, again this Guide was also super. He was very informative and allowed for stops.
Fantastic experience: Trip was outstanding and we had the best tour guide /driver named Jackie. This is a must do !!! Great job.
Fantastic experience: JJ was great! Made it a very fun day! Added information that we wouldn't have gotten if we had been on our own. Fun time! Cliffs were beautiful and a little bit of an adventure.
Fantastic experience: We so enjoyed our tour to Giants Causeway and Belfast with Karon! He was wonderful and it was a fabulous tour. Thank you so much for making our trip to Ireland special!
Fantastic experience: We had Jacky as our small group tour guide. He had a balance of humor and knowledge. Very informative and attentive to his audience. Providing recommendations on other available tours of interest as well as food advice!
Fantastic experience: Jackie was a great tour guide. He made a long day fun and well worth the time. Thank yiu.
Positive experience: The tour was very good. Our driver, Paul, was a nice person. He told some good and useful stories along the way. The Cliffs and The Burren were very good. The return trip on the Wild Atlantic Way was great. I wouldn't have needed King John's Castle. I would have preferred lunch in a seafood restaurant in Doolin.
Fantastic experience: Great small group tour to Cliffs of Moher
Fantastic experience: Had a great trip to see the Cliffs of Moher. Jackie (?spelling) did a great job as the driver / tour guide. Added bonus was the boat ride which was running due to the nice weather. Lunch at a seafood restaurant (self pay) was delicious.
Fantastic experience: We had the absolute best tour with Kieran on August 7th to the Giant’s Causeway and Belfast. He was funny, charming, knowledgeable; just an all around fantastic person to spend a long day with. He went above and beyond to make sure we had the things we needed at rest stops and sites. He hooked us up with a great black cab driver in Belfast; which was one of the highlights of the trip - better understanding the dynamics of Ireland and Northern Ireland and the Troubles. He had funny and fantastic stories; you really got to know him and thus a part of Ireland which, I think, is one reason many people come to Ireland. He showed us wonderful beauty spots to take pics and and an amazing monastic tower and Celtic crosses. We just had a great day, beautiful sites; amazing and tragic history and great and plentiful banter. And btw Kieran a courgette is a zucchini! Loved the trip!
Fantastic experience: Elegant Irish Tours Small Group is the way to go. Friendly employees and a good tour. The Internet, like most tours, is nonexistent. Timing of stops good. Lunch stop excellent
Negative experience: Had a very strange experience with them. My wife and I did the small group Cliffs of Moher Tour from Dublin on July 13th. I'll start off with the good: The vehicle was as advertised, a comfortable Black-Sprinter van. The lunch stop was very good. And of course the scenery was gorgeous. So now for the bad, which needs some context: On the return half of the tour we hit some pretty bumpy roads and it was tossing those of us in the back around quite a bit, making some of us nauseous. During the next stop my wife politely asked if it'd be possible to go a bit slower because it was bumpy and we didn''t want anyone to throw up or anything. Rather than simply saying "Sorry about that, I'll see what I can do", the tour guide/driver caused a big scene, loudly declaring that she was trying to "dictate the tour". Kind of just flew off the handle about it for no reason. During a later stop he approached us to see if we wanted to return to Dublin on a large bus instead (we were already past the bumpy portion). My wife was understandably upset by his earlier reaction and said that she was fine, and when he pushed on it she said she didn't want to speak with him because of the way she spoke to her earlier. This caused him to yell out "Oh thank god, she's fine!" or something to that nature, causing a big scene again. One of the customers was consoling him after because he was clearly upset. It was just very unprofessional and honestly concerning behavior; if a simple (reasonable) question was enough to set him off like that he has no business guiding full-day tours like this. Less important but still off-putting were the political rants he spent the latter half of the tour going on and on about (obviously not the time or place). The only reason I'm doing 2 stars is because of the (few) positives I listed at the top, but honestly the way the tour guide behaved nearly ruined the experience for us. I would recommend just renting a car and doing your own exploration, otherwise you might end up stuck in a vehicle with someone like this for the better part of a day.
Fantastic experience: Jackie was simply the best. He exceded our expectations...The tour of the Cliffs and the restaurant he recommended was 5 Star.WOW .

Negative experience: Below is the correspondence we shared with the company. Zero response from them, so posting to share and warn others to avoid this company. Dear Sir I don't know how to begin to express my utter disappointment with this tour. Firstly, the men picking us up at 7:30am at the Westin arrived saying "is anyone going up North" and guided us into their unmarked cars. we got in their vehicles and they spent the next 30 min smoking and on their phones while we sat and waited. We started to wonder if this was a scam. had we been taken by some hooligans? NO mention of Elegant Irish Tours. Next, as we got down the road we finally asked our driver is name. (HE HAD NOT SPOKE FOR 30 MIN). He asked us where we were going and what we had been told. He told us he is just a driver and doesn't work for you. There was no tour. There was no storytelling. He wanted us to pay for parking at Giant's Causeway and buy our own way in. He wouldn't take us to Black Taxi in Belfast. Listen, he was a NICE MAN and we tipped him handsomely b/c you put him in THE WORST position. We expected so much more. I expect a refund. Seriously, it was ridiculous. I brought my elderly mother and daughter on this trip. My mom spent 2 hours in the van worried we were not getting home safely as the driver didn't know where we were going. Calls, after calls of trying to figure out where to take us and who was paying. It was so awkward. This driver tried his absolute best and was so kind to all of us. But he had no instructions or details on what was included. NO response to emails or Facebook messages and no one picks up the phone- all day we tried contacting you. You should be ashamed of this scam. WITH THANKS FOR nothing,
Fantastic experience: Gary was our driver and he was fantastic! Good conversation and very accommodating. We visited the Dark Woods, Giants Causeway, some beautiful ocean lookouts, the Carick a rede bridge, and drive home along the coast line taking in the stunning scenery. Wonderful day. We won’t forget Gary!
Fantastic experience: If you are going to use this company you must make sure you ask for murphy's Mark is his first he goes above and beyond no exactly the complete history Of ireland A complete Professional And the amount of people that he knows comes in very handy with trying to see hidden places thanks again.
Fantastic experience: This was by far the best tour company we used during our trip to Ireland. While the energy of the big bus tours is fun, nothing compares to a private driver being able to show you hidden gems the busses can't get to, and allowing you as many stops without a time limit. Well worth the splurge! Our driver Paul took us off the crowded tourist spots to quiet and special vistas, sharing stories and trivia along the way. Would absolutely recommend and book again.
Fantastic experience: We had Alex take us on a small group tour from Dublin to the cliffs. Alex was awesome. Great local knowledge and just enough humor. The small group tour was perfect for us. We’ve done the big group tours and it’s just not the same.
Fantastic experience: I used 3 different tour companies while in Ireland and Elegant Irish Tours was the best by far. I took the day trip to Giant's Causeway and Belfast. Going with a small group makes the day feel more relaxed and comfortable. Dermot was very knowledgeable and made the trip fun and enjoyable.
Fantastic experience: We had an awesome time, very windy et lots of rain. but nothing stop us for having a wonderful experienced. We love Ireland. We will come back. there is so much to see. we had a confortable car and a good driver.
Negative experience: Just saw one of the vans hold their horn down passing a cyclist on the quays dangerously. No need..
Fantastic experience: My husband and I literally booked our private custom tour just a few days before we arrived in Ireland. Cathal was very prompt in his replies through email and was very helpful in putting together our trip. The price was very much worth it: having our own personal tour guide, not having to wait around on other group members and having the flexibility to go wherever and whenever. Our driver, Gavin, was fantastic! He made the long drives fun...we talked and laughed the entire time. It was so awesome to have a guide who gave us recommendations on local restaurants and things to do that big groups do not have the opportunity to enjoy. My husband and I would highly recommend Elegant Irish Tours and would request Gavin again if we could! Thank you so much for making our trip to Ireland enjoyable!
Fantastic experience: I went on the small group tour to Belfast and the Giant's Causeway with Lee. It was an absolutely incredible tour, and Lee was very knowledgeable on endless topics from pop culture, politics, history, economics, and social issues. I would (and will) recommend this tour to anyone.
Fantastic experience: We booked a tour to the Cliffs of Moher on 10/25. Our driver/guide was Dominic. We had a great time. Being in a small group we had a lot of flexibility in what we saw and how much time we could spend at various attractions. The boat ride to see the Cliffs from the water was unexpected but made the whole trip even more special. Thank you.
Fantastic experience: The tour was great and Tiernan was a wonderful tour guide. I would recommend to anyone who has the physical ability to walk up hills.
Fantastic experience: Patrick was a great driver and full of stories. I can’t say enough good things about Patrick. He exceeded our expectations on every level. I recommend this tour and when we come back to Ireland we want to use them company for many more tours.
Fantastic experience: We went on the Cliffs of Mother in 9/24 and Patrick was our tour guide. He was informative and funny. We were able to go on the ferry at the Cliffs and it was incredible. The lunch was good. I highly recommend this tour and you won't be disappointed.
Fantastic experience: My husband & I took a three day southern Ireland tour with Cian! It was better than we could have imagined. We got to see the back roads that on the larger tours you wouldn't get to see . He was very knowledgeable very courteous, Funny & so helpful. We recommend this tour company and would do it again given the chance. Thank you so much for making our trip so special!!
Negative experience: Less than zero. They will cancel for sure just before tour. There actually is only the big green trash bus Lally’s who are the owners of Elgant Irish Tours so they cancel a few hours before the booked and paid for “elegant tour” and try to put you the cheaper tour. Total bait and switch.
Fantastic experience: My husband, son, sons girlfriend and I took the Luxury Giant’s Causeway and Northern Ireland Day Tour on Sunday 7/21/19. Our Driver was Derrick. From the outset he was both informative and humorous, which made the trip exceptional and enjoyable. We’re planning a return trip to Ireland next year and hopefully Derrick is available to take us to other places. It was a wonderful day! Thank you, Paul and Angela, from NYC. John and Patricia from Brazil.
Fantastic experience: Desmond was an excellent guide and offered lots of options along our tour with the small group. He also provided a lot of great Irish history. Tour bus was excellent with WiFi and USB charge port!
Positive experience: We had a wonderful day. Our guide Patrick was great. I think the lunch options could have been better. Very basic food.
Fantastic experience: Desmond did a wonderful job as tour guide, even sang and played the fiddle! He knows so much interesting and important history, and it greatly enhanced the experience. Des made the trip great. Thank you!!
Fantastic experience: Malcolm was our guide on tour to King John's Castle, Cliffs of Moher and the Barren. Absolutely fantastic!! His knowledge of history was very helpful in laying groundwork for tour of the castle. The information shared about sites along the way truly enhanced the beauty of the Irish countryside. His arranging for the boat excursion to the cliffs made the trip even better and magnified the enormity and majesty of cliffs. The trip to Ireland was a bucket list trip for my 80 year old mother, and this excursion, especially boat trip, was definitely the highlight for her. Thank you Malcolm!
